Thrive n' Shine | 3D Generalist

As apart of a four person art team I helped to make all of the assets in Thrive n' Shine. While I initially played the role of a 3D Associate Artist, company needs changed I became more of an art generalist for the project. My responsibilities included 3D modeling with Maya, texturing with Photoshop, and the creation of animation, particle effects, and cinematics within Unity.

The Thrive 'n' Shine Experience is a comprehensive, transformative, and turnkey platform to teach financial capability in an innovative way. It involves the use of curriculum, assessments, and Thrive 'n' Shine, a fun, mobile and web-based, financial capability game, which millennials describe as a mash-up between Candy Crush and The Sims. By playing the game, they develop real money management skills, such as budgeting, saving, calculating and paying taxes, managing debt, etc.

Below is a video that covers all aspects of our art pipeline and development process.

Animation

As a small team I assisted in creating animations for town characters, environment props and cars in the game.

Animations for various in-game cars

Environments

A total of three towns were created for use in the game. Using the concept art that was provided by my Art Director I was responsible for modeling the environments and creating hand-painted textures to accommodate a top down camera.
